Devon is walking to the library after school. He comes to a busy street with a lot of cars. Devon knows it is not safe to cross in the middle of the street.

Devon walks down to the corner. He presses the button at the crosswalk and waits on the sidewalk. When the walk signal turns white, Devon looks both ways and crosses the street.

Andre is taking the train downtown to meet his friend. He waits on the platform at the station. There is a bright yellow line near the edge of the platform.

Andre stands behind the yellow line so he is far from the edge. Soon he hears the train coming. Andre waits for the train to stop and the doors to open before he steps on.
